Peter Gallagher joined Unisys in 2008 as a vice president, after building and selling his own IT services firm. He has over 25 years of experience as a solution provider.
In his last position at Unisys he was the leader of the Innovation & Portfolio Solutions (IPS) team. The IPS is responsible for shared services in support of solution development for large proposals ($20M - $500M), project start-up, trouble-shooting, pre-sales, enterprise certifications, portfolio development, and information security. This 100+ person growth engine is composed of architects, engineers, developers, technical writers, multiple centers of excellence and labs. He organized this team around core capabilities: managed services, infrastructure optimization, and application modernization, while creating new units for cloud integration services and big data analytics.
Prior to joining Unisys, Peter founded Development InfoStructure (DevIS) which he built into a growing and innovative solutions provider. Under his leadership DevIS was recognized as an early adopter and evangelist for open source software collaborative models in government. Peter sold his interest in DevIS in 2008.
Peter has bachelor degrees in economics and philosophy from Boston College and a master’s degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He also served as a Peace Corps volunteer and worked for Catholic Relief Services in Africa. He was honored with the “Federal 100” award in 2011. He enjoys playing sports, especially skiing and basketball. He resides in Oakton, VA.
